Media liability insurance was originally developed to cover the professional liability exposures of traditional media operations such as publishers of magazines, books, and newspapers, as well as broadcasters and advertising agencies.  Today, the internet has created the need to cover these same exposures, only now with the giant scope of that the web brings.  Web 2.0 has brought with it Social Media and blogging, creating risk exposures that didn't even exist until the last few years.  Considering the shear infancy of this new media, the cards are yet to be played and it will remain a moving target for risk managers for some time to come.
